A 1970s lakeside cottage becomes a modern-day, coastal-inspired retreat.
The brief
This family cottage held deep meaning for our client, and the goal was to honour the home’s history while giving it new life. We designed the space to feel bright, airy, beachy, and effortlessly relaxed.
Soaring vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and a soft, seaside-inspired palette ground the home in calmness and natural light. Floor-to-ceiling shiplap, layered neutral materials, clean lines, and curated finishes balance comfort with refined simplicity.
Scope of Work
DesignChicks was engaged to reimagine and update the home without major structural renovations. Through updated colours, windows, textiles, wall coverings, furnishings, fixtures, and creative flair, we completely transformed the look and feel of the space while maintaining its original structure.
I’ve worked with DesignChicks on several contracts over the past three years and Jaya and team are the absolute best. She is completely professional, extremely well organized and has delivered on every single detail. I highly recommend.
