White Oak Kitchen with Chantilly Lace Cabinets

Sometimes new builds just feel a bit sterile. I’m all for minimalist – but I’m also all for homes with a bit of softness and personality. If you love clean lines, but also want your kitchhen to sing, consider mixing cabinet panel styles and materials. This kitchen features flat panel white oak cabinets with micro-shaker painted cabinets in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. Not all cabinet panel styles work well together – but we love the look of mixing flat panel and micro-shaker. We also love mixing knobs with pulls – it really gives a kitchen personality.

One thing to note is, when using Chantilly Lace for cabinets, be careful with coutertop and backsplash selections because any white slab with too much warmth will look yellow or beige (and not the good kind) against the stark white. We chose a darker, cooler porcelain which worked well with Chantilly.Â
